Our club staff is comprised of well qualified individuals who share the vision and mission of the club to share the sport of wrestling in a fun, healthy, and positive way.
![]() Coach Na Humma is certified as a Bronze level coach through USA Wrestling and is a Level 1 Accredited Interscholastic Coach through the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). He has coached wrestlers at various local, regional, and national level competitions, as well as high school Varsity, Junior Varsty, and Jr. High competitions Coach Na Humma is also a licensed mat official through the United States Wrestling Officials Association and United World Wrestling, and has officiated at various local, regional, national and international competitions, including the 2010 Junior World Team Trials and the 2014 Youth Olympic Games and 2016 Cadet World Championships. Coach Na Humma is a member of the Tohono O'odham Nation.
Hosteen Smith - Head Folkstyle Coach / Vice-President
Coach Smith is a graduate of Salt River High School (class of 2011!) and holds the honor of being the first wrestler from Salt River High to place at the AIA High School State Championship with his 6th place finish in 2011. Coach Smith has since competed in Greco-Roman at the 2014 Lori Piestewa Games finishing as the Runner-up in the Senior Division after suffering an injury in his finals match. Coach Smith returned to the Piestewa Games in 2015 and 2016 to emerge as a Triple Champion, besting his competition in all three styles and playing a big part in securing the team's 3rd Place team berth for the third consecutive year. Coach Smith served as the club's assistant coach during the 2012-2015 seasons and now serves as the head coach for the youth winter Folkstyle season.
Coach Smith is a certified coach through the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and USA Wrestling, and has coached wrestlers at various local competitions, as well as Jr. High and Varsity competitions. He also serves as the Head Coach for the Jr. High Wrestling Team at Salt River High School. In addition to his wrestling experience, Coach Smith has also served as a baseball and t-ball coach for the Salt River Community Recreation Department, and is an assistant coach for the Salt River High School Varsity Football team. Coach Smith is a member of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.
Samantha Mielkey - At-Large Board Member Mrs. Mielkey is a member of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and has been a supporter of wrestling at Salt River High School and Ba'ag Wrestling Club since 2013, helping to run clocks and keep score at a variety of events including high school and jr. high dual meets, tournaments, and the Piestewa Games Wrestling Tournament. She's also helped as a driver, cheerleader, cook, and chaperone. Mrs. Mielkey is heavily involved with youth sports and activities in Salt River and has a huge love of the youth of her Community. Her involvement with Ba'ag Wrestling helps to ensure we keep true to our mission of helping to build better people through the sport of wrestling and that we keep providing the best opportunities possible for our members. |
